<CENTER> - ENTER THE MYST -

A BEGINNING:

The SERIOUS student now needs to separate the myth from the reality
How does one divide and extract the TRUTH from the Myst ?

Where do we begin the process of refining the real information from the Cults,
the Theologies and Theogonies, the Cosmonogetic Philosophies that exhisted before
the inception of what became accepted as Religion before the procreation of Christianity ?

Surely the forces in exhistance three or four centuries before Christianity are
responsible for cause and effect, it was the way things were done back then

As one Religion took over from another, previous methods and beliefs were incorporated,
new systems blended with old, transition was visible, conversion became less obvious

Whole belief systems became a hodge-podge of mixed Truths and values, new knowledge became
tainted, often times before it had a chance to take over the old ways

The problems today seem hopeless as we look at whole cultures blending togeather, Races and
sub-races, nations and families blending cult and religion into a mass of confusion

How then can we extracate the value from the babble of time ?

Where do we begin ?

Each new Archaeological and ethnological discovery brings new awareness, new comprehension

Whole Tribes that once were considered primitive now can be re-evaluated and their beliefs are
found to be remnants of older and more advanced nations, their superstitions and practices
often are realised to be bits and pieces of higher ideals that the more primitive tribes couldn't
absorb or even comprehend

Whole Nations are 'born' from other pre-exhistant Nations, a 'mingling' of peoples and races,
so it is that Religions are 'born' from other pre-exhilic Religions, and cultures, and both old
and new superstitions transmigrate and form yet whole new belief structures, dissimilar to
either parent philosophy

Nations may have certain distinguishable characteristics, but the forces of Religion are much more
subtle, bringing with them hereditary traits that are vastly more difficult to solve

Religious consciousness is NOT a physical vehicle, nor is it hard to understand that it is an
eminently more difficuly field of study to comprehend properly

Three main elements combine their substances and idiosyncracies in the Christian complex

and transmute their qualities into one:

Greece

Egypt

and Israel

It is the inner substance of these three systems we will delve into as we try to study the reality
of the roots of Christianity

It would be all but impossible to discern the truth from the cults and practices of these peoples
so we will turn to the teachings of the Sages and Philosophers, the Priests and Prophets

The degrees of intensity and levels of complexity were often times reserved for those who were
thought to be able to comprehend them, institutions of Mystery and schools of initiation had
within their structure varying levels of Philosophia, and represented not only the best of the
known knowledges, but the worst as well

But that's a subject for another discussion

To start our journey from the Myst into the reality, let us first go to the Greeks

- RELIGIOUS INTELLECT -

We can begin around 600 b.c. to see the glimmerings of a new intellectual activity in its formation

It is a time of the birth of philosophy, and a new era is dawning, physics is yet an infant, and
older Myths and Oracular antiquity is recieving a new mode of comprehension

A remarkable justax is occuring

Religious instinct is begining to include intellect

Other lands as well are going thru great changes at this time, and Religious Instinct is fast
becoming Religious Consciousness

It is a time of Pythagoras

And Simon the Mage

Of King Josiah in Israel

And of Buddha

And Loa Tsu,

And of Confucious

Like all great teachers of truth, Pythagoras had predecessors who perhaps kept the inner truths
to themselves, there was Anaximander and Pherecydes, and before them Thales in Asia Minor,
regarded as the source of the very first elements of Philosophy

The Greeks regarded Egypt as the center of learning at the time, and their own ancestral legacy
had little if any forbearance on their new outlook

The Rhapsodists of their Homeric influence were thought to be vane and could tell the people
nothing of their Religion, and they could make out little of Hesiod and his theogany they could use.

The Orphic Poems contained some wisdom of the foundations of belief, but paled in the light of Egypt

And the fragments left were of a barbaric and superstitious nature even for their own time period
But Omonacritus translated and brought about their revival, and Greece appears to have grown stronger for it

It's accredited with being the motivating force behind their driving back the Xerxes invasion from Europe

The expansion of Philosophy is bringing about a new injection of Intellect, and courage of self
is on the rise snowballing towards what will become their Eastern Conquests soon enough

Greece is waking up and the Way to Eleusis was becoming an information highway indeed

Orpheus had given way to Homer, who in turn lost his status to the Chaldean and Egyptian influences

And the lack of consern over Religious adherence brought in by the Indio-Arian infestation had
finally become frayed enough to allow Greek Philosophy to sieve into Egyptian and Chaldean Religious Belief

And for the first time, Greece became Religiously aware as barbaric rule turned into Philosophic Intellect
